Open Mic “Gathering Point” begins at Lake Par

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAKE PARSIPPANY – Dr. Randolph “Wolf” Shipon, a local psychologist, is proud to have kicked off the Open Mic – “Gathering Point” club at Lake Parsippany clubhouse.

Three people assembled for the first event, which featured music, bubbles a fog machine, a laser show, a tarot card reading and a mini-Reiki class.

“It’s to spread kindness,” Shipon said, the day after the first event on Monday. “I learned that free expression is the antidote to injustice.  Civilization requires kindness, and kindness requires free expression.”

The format of the event is that guests take turns doing 10-minute segments.  The event is held on the First and Third Mondays at the Lake Parsippany Clubhouse. The next event will be held September 15, 2022 due to the Labor Day Holiday. The time is 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Parsippany Club House, 701 Lake Shore Drive, Parsippany, NJ 07054.

Gathering Point is also a fund-raiser for accessible bathrooms around Lake Parsippany. Suggested donation is $5 per family.  The rules are: Be kind or be funny, clean up after yourself, and try to come back next time.

Shipon, a wandering minstrel as well as psychologist, plays the ukulele and enjoys sharing it on the beach at Lake Parsippany.  This was the next natural evolution for him: helping others share their free expression.
