It is my privilege and honor to offer you my experience as a psychologist and alternative healing researcher-practitioner in the greater NYC area. With your dedication and drive, I will mobilize immediate change in you. I aspire to be an energizing, cut-to-the-chase, solution-focused strategist (a word I prefer to "therapist").
My approach is to provide empathic support, humor, and keenly observant practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I read everything, most especially body signals, expression, tone of voice, posture, etc. to help me discern what is happening for you, and then will ask you to change these things in order to change your experience. By teaching clients how to avoid self-judgment and cultivate direction, I work with individuals to help them build on their strengths and take massive action toward their goals.
I hold a doctorate in counseling psychology and I am licensed as a psychologist in NY and NJ. I am also certified in brief change approaches and neurolinguistic programming (NLP), the same tools used by world-class change experts like Anthony Robbins, whom I admire. I specialize in coaching entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, creative artists, high-net-worth individuals, and those who aspire to be like them for maximum effectiveness in personal and business life, with a focus on brief treatment.
I am also the developer of Gratitude-Based Techniques (GBT), which is foundational to my signature brief treatment. My latest research project is a pattern interruption known as One Minute Healing, a tool to reduce distress levels in less than one minute. I am also one of the only psychologists in New Jersey teaching neurolinguistic programming strategies for interpersonal effectiveness.
I have close to 20 years of training and experience as a trainer, counselor and psychologist. I was privileged to be gifted with a University Fellowship at Temple University, from which I hold my doctorate. I draw heavily on Eastern and Western philosophy as well as Western faith-based traditions by teaching clients to maintain a here-and-now focus; processing and releasing the patterns of the past; staying focused on accurate, success-based, and non-defeated thinking; and maintaining a flexible and opportunity-focused stance toward the future. I have held several psychologist posts in state government, including director of psychology at one facility, and regional psychologist.
